Shade Sails Bacchus Marsh

02 October 2009

This week we feature Shade Sails in and around Bacchus Marsh in regional Victoria's Moorabool Shire.

Bacchus Marsh is a fast growing city between Melbourne and Ballarat on the Western Highway located along the valley of the Lerderberg and Werribee rivers.  The fertile soil crops makes Bacchus Marsh a good location for crops and light industry.  The area frequently gets hot and dry and is ideal for shade sails.

There is a large collection of Shade Sails in the area between the railway line and Grant and Labiliere Streets.

A collection of large hyperbolic black sails attached to bright green posts behind a carpark between Bacchus Marsh Ecolinc and the Leisure Centre creates a small picnic area and makes a bold visual statement.

The Shade Sails twist and tuck beneath each other providing interesting viewing from different angles.

See our council parkland shade for similar solutions.

Nearby the striking architecture of the Ecolinc has another very similar looking shade sail, obviously erected at the same time.  The sail provides shade to a small garden of native ferns.

Like most schools, nearby Bacchus Marsh Secondary College has Shade Sails.  The Shade Sails there are in its assembly areas.  It is one of the most impressive you'll see.  A line of light green hyperbolic Shade Sails attached to cream posts cover an astroturf area.  Another sail in an unusual configuration is located nearby providing a large covered area.

Compare to our assembly area shade solutions.

At the same school is a large light green four post pyramid shade which covers a lunch area.

The advantage of pyramid shades like this one is that the cloth provides uniform cover.  See also our own lunch area shade solutions.

Bacchus Marsh Grammar located up on a hill also has its fair share of Shade Sails, some of them quite spectacular.

A colourful bright blue and yellow Shade Sail combination with ten red posts is a feature of one of the playgrounds and provides cover for similarly coloured play equipment.

Compare to some of our school shade and playground shade solutions.  Even though high school students are better at avoiding the posts, we'd still probably recommend some padded post protectors for a solution like this one given that the kids would likely be running around.

Nearby is another shade solution, a small eating area is shaded with a 5 chrome post configuration of four triangular green sails.  Maximum midday (lunch time) shade and a squat look is achieved by placing the sails low toward the ground and relatively flat pitched.

Also in Moorabool are the towns and suburbs of Bacchus Marsh, Ballan, Balliang, Beremboke, Blackwood, Bungaree, Clarendon, Dunnstown, Elaine, Gordon, Greendale, Korobeit, Lal Lal, Millbrook, Mount Egerton, Myrniong, Parwan, Scotsburn, Springbank, Wallace, Yendon.  1800SHADEU provides Shade Sail and Shade Solutions to these location.

Shade Sails Melton

29 September 2009

This week we feature Shade Sails in and around Melton in Melbourne's west in the Shire of Melton.

The City of Hume is a fast growing corridor along the Western Freeway between Melbourne and Ballarat.  The area is perfect for Shade Sails as it is mostly open and lacks tall trees.

Melton West Secondary College has an impressive collection of all tall khaki pyramid shades and a variety of coloured shade sails over its main playground and assembly area.

See more examples of our playground shade and school shade.

A large architectural Shade Sail can be found at the Melton Waves swimming centre.  The dark blue hyperbolic Shade Sail makes a great visual statement and is secured to the fascia and two similarly coloured square metal posts.

See our examples of architectural Shade Sails.

Another Shade Sail can be found at the Melton Centrelink offices.  A small courtyard area is enclosed by an unusually arranged set of triangular beige Shade Sails attached to five freestanding metal posts.

See more examples of courtyard shade.

Also nearby, a carwash (Pro Wash) features a large square and bright yellow Shade Sail attached to the garage and two freestanding square metal posts.

Shade Sail Ivanhoe

17 September 2009

This week we feature Shade Sails in and around Ivanhoe and Heidelberg in Melbourne's north in the City of Banyule.

Heidelberg is the home of our business, so its that we should look at some local shade solutions.

This one is on Upper Heidelberg Road.

A bit of a suprise really, it is not often that you see Shade Sails on a commercial property on a strip shopping centre.  But it is a great idea.   The square beige shade sail sits above the second story on a third storey setback extension secured to the facade and two angled posts, providing a small shaded deck.

Shade Sails South Melbourne - Port Phillip

14 August 2009

This week we feature Shade Sails in and around South Melbourne in the City of Port Phillip.

South Melbourne is known for its pockets of heritage architecture, particularly around the main shopping centre at Clarendon Street and also some industrial areas.

There are some Shade Sails at the heritage former South Melbourne Railway station (now light rail station) which is a community centre of some kind.

Two sets of vibrantly coloured green and blue striped shade sails are attached to six sets of white posts.  The modern style contrasts heavily with the old style of the station.  We stock a whole range vibrant colours and materials like these and can even customise patterns and dyes to your requirements.

A long rectangular four post beige Shade Sail provides shelter to one of the platforms at the train station.

A childcare centre next to the South Melbourne Market also has Shade Sails over its astroturf play area.  Three hyperbolic red and orange sails share a six post configuration with padded post protectors (a great idea to protect the little ones) on each of the metal posts.

Compare this to our kindergarten shade and playground shade solutions.
